Kissed By Sunshine Double Calendula Wound Care Tincture 2oz

This beautiful rich colored tincture began with last years calendula flowers, grown from seed, tended with love, and harvested throughout the growing season. Those flowers were added to alcohol and shaken daily, and allowed to infuse for over 8 weeks. The plant material was then strained, leaving our initial Calendula Wound Care Tincture. This Tincture was then re-infused with this years bountiful calendula harvest, lending additional potency to the brew.
Traditionally, Calendula is known for its anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, astringent, vulnerary, and anti-fungal properties. Most commonly, the flower heads and petals are used although the leaves also have healing properties. Calendula has been used over time for its wound healing and treatment of both gastric and skin ulcers. It is a wonderful skin condition herb, acting as an antiseptic in tincture or salve form and helping to stop bleeding.  It can also help to clear out infection, if applied externally to wounds and lends help in the healing process through its antiseptic antifungal properties.
 Calendula's healing power is due in part to the presence of terpenes. Flavonoids and their antioxidant propertiesm, helping to eliminate free radicals in the body, facilitating the healing process and boosting the immune system. The volatile oils, add antifungal and antiseptic properties.
Internal use of Calendula is contraindicated during pregnancy. Calendula acts as an emmenagogue, helping to promote menstrual flow. It aids in decreasing pelvic congestion, helping to promote gentle flow and decrease pain associated with menses. During labor, Calendula can be used to gently encourage uterine contraction and help the mother to expel the placenta. Calendula is also very helpful in healing any vaginal tears or c-section scars afterbirth.
Excellent for facilitating clean, rapid, wound repair and a staple in my first aid kit. Intended for external use. Best used immediately after the skin is damaged. Using the dropper, place enough tincture to cover the wound, and follow up with our Magick Potion Lotion Salve to take the burn away and lend a helping hand in the healing process. Keep the wound clean, allow it to breath at night. I usually tend any wound twice daily, at minimum.
